MILLWOOD CATTERY - JEAN MILL

The Bengal Breed Originator and Epitimee's Breeder

Jean Mill has been given credit for creating the hybrid versions of the Asian Leopard Cats or "Bengals" that are now recognized by TICA.   This video is the retirement video produced by Anthony Hutcherson (of Jungletrax Bengals) and includes pictures and video's or her cattery and many of the foundation ALC's and Bengals that started so many of the Bengals programs around.

Please keep an eye out for "Epitimee" and "Epitimiss" in the video....   Epitimee was the first stud here at Traipse and brother to my 2nd pet Bengal and Sire to my 3rd pet Bengal  -  He's and one of the reasons I became a Bengal Breeder.  I was SO lucky to start off with him!  These two cats are accredited with helping to bring in the rosette patterns that are highly valued in the Bengal breed and only really came about in the domestic lines about 20 years after that start of the breed (about the year 2000 or so)

Epitimee is even pictured on page 60 of the "Bengal Cat" book by Barron's -   still current and available on Amazon.com.

You will find Epitimee in many of my breeding cats pedigrees!      Trinity, Epiphany, Alamo, Cougar and Azalea :)

Thanks to:   www.bengalpedigrees.com for being able to find many other relatives and connections to Millwood and Jean Mill.

The Bengal   by Jean Mill

This is an article that I received from Jean in either 2002 or 2004.   It shows her original intent to create reproductions of Leopards!

Millwood was also licensed by the USDA

These are the USDA "reports of sale" that are required under Law for any cattery with over 4 females.    Even Jean understood the value of annual and unannounced visits by an agency separate then ourselves!

Please consider adopting pets ONLY from USDA licensed catteries or adoption centers.  (As well as being licensed by local authorities like King County)  They provide TREMENDOUS help in ensuring the health and safety of our animals here in the US.
